It's All About the Fit


Ask any of my clients and they will tell you that I’m a stickler when it comes to fit. Experts agree that ill-fitting clothes are the quickest way to lose style (and cool) points. But finding a good alterations specialist can be a daunting task. I’ve had pants hemmed unevenly; skirts taken in where the darts were clearly visible; and prized pieces completely ruined by dressmakers and tailors who labeled themselves also as alteration experts. Fortunately, my current “go to” fitter, Madame Teresa, is an absolute genius with pin, needle, thread and a sewing machine. Thanks to Teresa, many of my bargain resale shop finds have been transformed into pieces that look as if they were designed specifically for me. Read on.
