A Koala was sitting in a gum tree smoking a joint .

when a little lizard walked past, looked up and said, 'Hey Koala! What are you doing?'

The Koala said, 'Smoking a joint, come up and have some.'

So the little lizard climbed up and sat next to the Koala where they enjoyed a few joints. After a while the little lizard said that his mouth was 'dry' and that he was going to get a drink from the river.

The little lizard was so stoned that he leaned over too far and fell into the river.
A crocodile saw this and swam over to the little lizard and helped him to the other side. Then he asked the little lizard, 'What's the matter with you?'

The little lizard explained to the crocodile that he had been sitting with the Koala in the tree, smoking a joint, but got too stoned and fell into the river while taking a drink..

The crocodile said that he had to check this out and walked into the rain forest, found the tree where the Koala was sitting finishing a joint. The crocodile looked up and said,

'Hey you!'

So the Koala looked down at him and said,

'Shiiiiiiiiiiit dude ... How much water did you drink ???'

Project Runway Disappoints

Last night’s episode of Project Runway was quite disappointing. It was the designers' final challenge, and it was supposed to determine which three contestants would move forward and present collections at New York Fashion Week.

The four remaining contestants, along with Tim, visited the New York Botanical Garden. There, the designers meet Collier Strong, consulting makeup artist for L'Oreal Paris, who explained that this would be the L'Oreal Paris challenge. Collier instructed the designers to use the Garden as the source of their inspiration for an evening gown design. Each was given a camera and had one hour to explore the garden and take pictures to record their inspiration.

Jerell’s designed, a fitted bustier with a full, layered skirt and slight train, was gorgeous although unfinished. I love the brownish purple duchesse satin body of the dress and the under-layers of crimson followed by a dark green sequined panel draped beautiful on his model. Judges gave him the highest score, but Kors expressed concern with Jarell’s seemingly repeat offense of producing an unfinished garment.

Korto, inspired by a dramatic flower in shades ranging from orange to yellow, which she stated reminded her of her mother and the motherland, created a charmeuse, creamsicle and ochre colored gown with a deep, plunging neckline. The gown had a train with a vent and an inserted panel and she used ivory lace with beading embellishments in two side panels and as trim along the back. It wasn’t one of her best designs, but it still had a beautiful silhouette which I come to love and appreciate about Korto.

Leanne designed a stunning gown in lavender charmeuse, and while she retained her signature details and structural embellishments, this was a "softer" Leanne. The pleating in the one-shoulder top cascaded into a symmetrical flourish that hugged the hips. The judges questioned the efficacy of the darker blue panel in the train of the gown.

Kenley’s designed a mermaid-like gown with a high neck and a racer back made with a phython print fabric in shades of fuchsia and purple. From the knees down, the dress had multi-tiered layers of gradated "leaves" in the same python fabric, each of which was piped in a different shade of purple or fuchsia charmeuse. I likened the leaves look to fish scales, ergo the mermaid association of this look, and I found myself wondering again if Kenley received the same instructions as everyone else. Tim and the judges seemed to share my sentiments. Of course, when called on it by the judges, Kenley displayed her usual “you’re all wrong and I’m right” attitude.

As in last season, none of the designers were sent home. Instead all were sent home to create a line for Fashion Week but only three will show. Who will be the lucky three? We’ll find out next week.

Michelle Obama Gives us Floral in Thakoon's "Inside-Out"

Michelle Obama has become a fashion icon over the months. For some, there probably was as much anticipation about what Michelle would wear to the first presidential debate as there was about whether there would be one and, if so, what the two presidential candidates would say. I admire Michelle’s sartorial genius and her willingness to push the envelope, particularly with the use of floral and prints. However, last night, she pushed the mailbox over in Thakoon’s floral “Inside-Out” piece. Everything was wrong; the colors, the floral print, the fit and yes, the BOW. I suggest the First Lady hopeful stick with the vibrant, classic pieces that have worked so well on her in the past and leave the flowers in the greenhouse. One debate down, two to go.

I was thinking: What's up with the color lavender? Icy and cold, it's all over the place. I've been seeing it on magazine covers. You can get in a wallet, like the lavender compact size Coach leather Mini Skinny. Easy to fit in a small handbag or even in your back pocket; or Martinez Valero's T-strap sandals. Liquid lavender all over your feet. Maybe you want to get Stella's fragrance; it comes in a lavender bottle. Maybe you want to do your part to help the environment like using a lavender eco-friendly reusable bag, all while looking fabulous, of course. Maybe you want to look at your guy in a lavender tie, because that's going to look good in a navy suit, pinstripe or not. Not trying to tell you how to dress him, just saying, this could be a good look with blue. Another good lavender look? Check out Michael Kors' unbelievable camel and lavender. It's a beautiful combination and a definite must have.

A Few Of My Favorite Spring Things - Spring Trends '08

Yesterday, as I was leaving the hair salon, a patron mentioned spring’s official arrival being less than two weeks away. “Yeah right” I thought as I zipped up my boots, donned my winter coat, wrapped my scarf around my neck and covered my still damped locs with my fresh wool cap. The idea seemed even more far fetched as I scraped the ice and snow off my car, and slipped and slid to Nordstrom to meet my afternoon client. But leave it to Nordstrom to save the day with their beautiful displays of flirty frocks constructed from bold printed fabrics; high glossed color blocked gladiator sandals, vivid colored accessories and yes, those were birds chirping over the intercom. Spring IS near and I can’t wait!

Ask any of my clients and they will tell you that I’m a stickler when it comes to fit. Experts agree that ill-fitting clothes are the quickest way to lose style (and cool) points.
